Conflict is intrinsic to human existence. The problem lies not in the conflict but the manner in which we deal with it. Jean-Paul Lederach, an eminent peacebuilding scholar, called conflict an opportunity for us to bring out a constructive change by noticing and efficiently addressing the issues in our system through collective action.
Project Inaayat is an on-ground peacebuilding project for the Jasola Camp community. The community comprises of both — members from the other states of the country and the Rakhine state of Myanmar — all who face conflict in their vulnerable environment, marked by the struggle for basic resources, space, and opportunities. The project aims to bring conflict transformation through positive community engagement by facilitating awareness and wellness sessions, imparting peace education to children and women as well as providing necessary aid for holistic community development. We have a classroom in the Jasola Camp, New Delhi to teach and organise workshops.
With UNSCR 2250 as its nucleus, YfPI’s on-ground Project, Inaayat, envisions building a peaceful and sustainable world for all with empathy, social cohesion, and respect for diversity as its core values. We are a team of passionate individuals who share the common goal of engendering a culture of peace and co-existence through active participation in resolving conflict.
