Project Inaayat was an on-ground peacebuilding initiative implemented in the Jasola Camp community in New Delhi, engaging with families from across India as well as displaced communities from Myanmar’s Rakhine State. The project worked within a context shaped by resource scarcity, social vulnerability, and everyday conflict, aiming to foster trust, dignity, and coexistence.
Grounded in the principles of the Youth, Peace and Security agenda (UNSCR 2250), the initiative focused on conflict transformation through sustained community engagement. YfPI facilitated awareness and emotional wellbeing sessions, delivered peace education for children and women, and supported holistic development through access to safe learning spaces and community dialogue. A dedicated classroom within the camp became a hub for learning, reflection, and collective growth.
At its core, Project Inaayat emphasised empathy, social cohesion, and respect for diversity. By creating opportunities for participation and dialogue, the initiative sought to strengthen community resilience and enable individuals to navigate conflict in constructive ways. Though concluded prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Project Inaayat remains an important part of YfPI’s journey, shaping its continued commitment to grassroots peacebuilding and community-led change.
